The Fat Lamb has earned itself a well deserved reputation for its good food, all lovingly prepared and cooked on the premises by our own chefs - you won't find any ready made meals at the Fat Lamb. Fresh, locally sourced produce has been an important part of the way we’ve done business since well before it became trendy, and we’ve always been proud of the range of our menu. No gimmicks or elaborate arrangements, just generous portions of lovingly prepared, old fashioned home cooking.
Guests dining in our restaurant or bar can choose from our extensive menu. Enjoy dishes designed by our chefs to incorporate seasonal produce and the freshest local ingredients, complemented by our comprehensive wine list. We cater for a very wide range of tastes and budgets at the Fat Lamb, from quick and simple snacks to fantastic signature specials.
To top it all off, there is always a tempting selection of delicious homemade sweets and hot puddings available, or for the more savoury palate a good range of local cheeses.

The above are our general opening hours but these can vary, and as we can also get fully booked at times, it is always advisable to call ahead to check that we can accommodate you.

I would just like to say that the 9 of us from The Austin Healey Club, Yorkshire thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at The Fat Lamb and were looked after very well by all the staff who had contact with us.
We enjoyed what was a lovely drive and excellent hospitality.

Thank you for the friendly welcome and great service we received last Sunday.
We had completed a long and very wet walk in Bowderdale and turned up at the pub hoping for refreshments. We were very well received and the hot tea and scones were just what we needed.
